SUMMIT MIDDLE SCHOOL ACADEMICS

Summit has established itself as one of the best middle schools in Colorado. We pride ourselves in providing high quality and rigorous academics for every student. With academic excellence in mind, we provide accelerated learning opportunities, small class sizes, and in-house created curriculum. Academics at Summit often look significantly different than the offerings of other Colorado middle schools.

Summit has a longer school calendar than the district's 180 day calendar, we have an earlier start and a later finish than other middle schools in Boulder Valley School district. Please click here to view the 20-21 School Calendar. All students complete daily homework and have access to in-school academic support and tutoring during scheduled study hall or teacher office hours.

Summit state test score are always among the highest in Colorado, and we are consistently rated as one of the best middle schools in the state. In 2003, 2004, 2012 and 2019 we received the highest national recognition given in education in the United States, The Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award. Summit has also won the John Irwin Schools of Excellence Award every year since 2000.

At Summit, the best school experience starts with the best learning opportunities
