Math Lab Tutor - part time

 English Lab Tutor

Academic Tutor – English Tutor provides English language arts coaching for individuals and small groups and supports students in organizational systems and work habits. The tutor creates relationships with students to enable 1:1 support in English coursework. The tutor assists teachers with classroom routines, evaluates student progress on work assignments, and communicates work/goal completion to teachers as well as supervises students during tutoring time.

Job begins September 2018. Position open until filled; part- time, 7.5 hours, one day per per week.  Children of employees qualify for open enrollment into Summit pending available space. Base wage is $12 per hour, though experience will be considered.

The elements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position: 

·         A college degree, preferably in English

·         Experience working directly with students in an academic support role: teaching, tutoring or substitute teaching

·         Strong skills in collaboration, coordination, technology and organization

·         An understanding and passion for middle school students

·         A dedication to supporting students in habits of mind, study skills, organizational structures and project management
