Open Enrollment Tours and Information Sessions

Thank you for your interest in Summit Middle School. In order to best understand our school mission, climate, and academic culture, we highly encourage all interested families to attend both a day tour (reservations required) and an evening program (no reservations needed). Day tours are only open to students and parents of current 5th, 6th and 7th graders.  Evening presentations are open to all.

Parent/Student Day Program - Reservation is necessary

The Open Enrollment program includes a school overview, a tour and classroom visits.  Reservations are required for tours.  Students need a reserved spot, too!

We have scheduled an additional open enrollment tour on Thursday, December 13th at 12:45 PM. If you are interested in this tour date, please call 720-561-3900 or email summit.office@bvsd.org. Thank you!

All tours are 90 minutes.

 Parent/Student Information Nights

Parent/Student Evening Program - No reservation is necessary

These evening programs offer an in-depth look at Summit. Both nights provide the same information and we encourage both students and parents to attend. We will start together in the school's auditorium at 6:30pm. Prospective students will then meet 7th grade student ambassadors and learn what the school is like from their perspective.  Parents will hear from teachers and administrators during that time.

  • Wednesday, November 14th      6:30-8:00 pm  (Spanish translation available)
  • Wednesday, December 5th         6:30-8:00 pm  (Spanish translation available)

 Other Information

Enrollment at Summit

Summit is a public charter school, not a neighborhood school, which means that students who wish to attend must apply through the BVSD lottery. Living near the school does not give your student an enrollment advantage but living in the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) at the time of open enrollment does give a student preference in the lottery. Other preferences include being the sibling of a current student or graduated student, being the child of a staff or board member. Students from low income families are given priority until 10% of the qualifying entering 6th grade students are enrolled.

How to Enroll at Summit:

Students who would like to enroll at Summit Middle School need to participate in BVSD's Open Enrollment (OE) process. Complete the OE application in the parent portal of Infinite Campus or go to the Open Enrollment link from the BVSD website if your student is currently not enrolled at a BVSD school.

Shadowing

Shadow visits will be offered to those students who receive notification of acceptance from BVSD. Details about shadowing will be included with the notification of admission.
