My name is Lynn Renter (“Miss Lynn”), Summit’s incoming school counselor. After having time to connect with a number of Summit students, staff and parents last Spring, I feel very fortunate to have been asked to join the Summit Middle School community. Originally from a suburb of Chicago, I completed both my undergraduate and graduate work at Illinois State University. Although I worked briefly as an elementary school counselor, most of my professional journey has been shared between Englewood Middle School (15 years) and Bell Middle School in Golden (4 years). My husband and I have three children, two daughters (aged 18 and nearly 21 who are currently attending a local community college) and a son who just turned nine. When I am not supporting students with their journey through middle school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our children and our two dogs as well as hiking, running, biking and swimming. Professionally, I strive to approach my work with students through a strength-based lens, working within a solution-focused framework to support their academic, personal/social and career needs and interests. I feel extremely fortunate to have been invited to make Summit Middle School my new professional home and I look forward to connecting with our students, parents and the Summit community!
