Mrs. Austin has been teaching choir and directing musical theater for over 15 years. In 2000, she co-founded CenterStage Theater Company and has directed hundreds of youth and even some young adults. Some of her favorites include Les Miserables, Once On This Island, Spring Awakening, Cabaret, The Sound Of Music, The Velveteen Rabbit, Jane Eyre and Oklahoma! She also directed choirs and served as an accompanist at Fireside Elementary, Bear Creek Elementary, St. Ambrose Episcopal Church, and Dana V Music. In 2004, Mrs. Austin went back to school to get a music degree and graduated in 2009 summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. Since then, she's been busy teaching private lessons, directing shows, and for the past few years, loving working at Summit! Mrs. Austin has been married to Dr. Paul Austin, a chiropractic neurologist, for the past 28 years. They have two grown children - Emily and Kevin - and two cute little dogs - Cody, a 16 year old toy poodle, and Sammy, a 7 year old Yorkie. When Mrs. Austin takes a break, you might find her singing in Generations Choir, knitting or crocheting, listening to an audio book, or watching a TV show or movie.
