SUMMIT BEAST PROGRAM

BEAST stands for "Bringing Everyone At Summit Together". Each student is assigned a BEAST pack with 15 other students, from mixed grade levels, and one faculty advisor. Students stay in the same BEAST pack with the same advisor for their entire time at Summit. These small groups promote community belonging, a positive school climate, upstander behavior, character development, social-emotional competencies, habits of scholarship, community service and positive citizenship.

The BEAST program includes a variety activities each week for students. Every other Friday students will meet with their BEAST packs to explore areas of our diverse community through meaningful and fun activities. On the opposite Friday of BEAST pack, students participate in BEAST Grade Level activities that provide unique learning experiences and long lasting relationships with their classmates. Students also participate in quarterly BEAST half-day activities. These BEAST days often include team building field trips or school wide service work.

ASSET EDUCATION

The goal of our partnership with ASSET education is simple: to help our students learn ways to cope with their stress and build resilience. Each week students learned a new tool in their classes to help understand that they have a choice in how they respond to stress. ASSET Education equips educators with a curriculum of concrete tools, that are easy and quick to implement, to help their students reduce stress and build resilience. ASSET strives to provide a school environment where all students flourish, and where their abilities are not compromised by debilitating, school-related anxiety.

Check out a few examples of ASSET lesson below.
